I never said post everyday.

It starts with a confession. I really, really, really wanted to do something interesting/different everyday in February. Not to be complaining, but work just got in the way. And it's freakin' cold in Minneapolis to walk myself all over the decent weather forsaken land.

Monday night though, I did go to something I have never done before. Charity/volunteer work. Most of my friends say the only reason I am doing this is to meet women. While they might not be wrong, I am starting my own charity society out of it. One that would make my mother proud. More news later.

So I used the Speed match to start to learn about the different charities in Minneapolis. While I liked the concept of meeting a bunch of different groups...we really needed more than 3 minutes at a table. Each group basically only had enough time to explain who they were. Never really got into the opportunities.

Goal!!!!

Day 3 (Feb 3rd) Adventure:

The last broomball game of the Lovers season.

Quick overview - Minnesota outdoor sport, on ice, small round ball, funny shoes, lots of falling. It was another great season. Looking forward to the awards banquet.

Shout, shout, let it all out...

Day 2 (Feb 2nd) Adventure:

Happy Birthday Julie P!

Because of her birthday I tried a new place Saturday night. The Shout House in Block E.

The picture doesn't quite do it justice. Here is the deal, it is a dueling piano bar, which will play your request...pretty much any song you can think off. Usually by the end of the night you will sing along to at least one, if not two, of your favorite Bon Jovi songs or fumble through the 12 words you actually know from some song that goes, 'bye, bye Miss American Pie. Took my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry. Good ole boys drinkin' something, something, something...' - you get the idea.

Now, yes, I have the uptown/downtown chip on my shoulder. Going to anything at Block E is just, well, gross. But I couldn't believe how packed it was. I mean, packed. And with enough drinks, a pretty good time. Not something I would do...often, but a good time.

Woke up with car keys in my pocket

For those of you who don't know...I don't own a car. But this morning I woke up with car keys in my pocket. And I have to say, the 29 days of interesting project starts off with a little bit of a bang. So my evening went something like this...

All dressed up and decided I needed someplace new to go. I had never been to Zelo. But with this being the 29 day project month, I had to go. Overall, it is not my scene. Not even close. Though I was dressed for the part I could barely take anything seriously.

Here is what I mean. The crowd is probably a bit higher end clientèle. But the people I was chatting it up with at the bar were all drinking Captain and Cokes. Now, I am one to judge. And for all the I-make-lots-of-money chest beating going on...the dude with the crazy hair (me) and the girl with a lollipop were the only ones drinking decent drinks for the atmosphere. She, champagne. Myself a nice Pinot Noir. When I asked her if she wanted to leave and check at someplace else, her mouth said "no" but her eyes said, "yes, please get me out of here".

The rest of the night was filled with bar hopping between different groups of friends. The car keys in my pocket? They people to a friend of mine who needs her dog let out today. What, it was a witty headline.

Tonight's plans - art opening and then a piano bar I've never been to.
